        Representing this number on place value chart, we get:

        Thus, 9,99,99,999 is read in Indian system of numeration as:
        “Nine crore, ninety-nine lakh, ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-nine.”
        When we add 1 more to it, we get:                        9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9

        10,00,00,000 is read as ten crore and it is the smallest 9-digit number. The ninth place in the
