              (a)  70000 + 4000 + 200 + 50 + 6               (b)  30000 + 6000 + 500 + 70 + 8
              (c)  60000 + 7000 + 800 + 90 + 1               (d)  80000 + 50 + 6

        Comparing Numbers
        To find the greater or smaller number, we follow these steps:

            ™ If number of digits in two numbers are different, then number with more digits is greater.

            ™ If number of digits in two numbers are same, then:

               X to compare numbers, compare their digits from left to right, that is, from the highest
                   place value to ones.

               X if the digits at a place are equal, compare the digits at the next place on the right.

               Let’s Attempt

        Example 1:  Compare 22002 and 2299.
        Solution:      22002 is a 5-digit number and 2299 is a 4-digit number.
                       Thus, 22002 > 2299

        Example 2:  Compare 35783 and 35873.
        Solution: Both the numbers have 5-digits.

                         TTh     Th    H     T    O                                 TTh     Th    H     T     O

                           3      5    7     8     3                                  3      5     8    7     3
                                                                  3 = 3

                                                                  5 = 5

                                                                  7 < 8

                       Thus, 35783 < 35873
