Example 4: Hardik had ` 3000 with him. He spent ` 1999.95 on his shoes and donated ` 500
to an NGO. How much money was spent by him? What amount is left?
Solution: Total money with Hardik = ` 3000.00
Amount spent on shoes = ` 1999.95 1
Amount spent on NGO = ` 500.00 ` 1 9 9 9 . 9 5
Total amount spent = ` 1999.95 + ` 500.00 + ` 5 0 0 . 0 0
= ` 2499.95 ` 2 4 9 9 . 9 5
Amount left with him = ` 3000 – ` 2499.95
= ` 500.05 2 9 9 9 9 10
Thus, the amount spent is ` 2499.95 and the ` 3 0 0 0 . 0 0
amount left is ` 500.05. + ` 2 4 9 9 . 9 5
` 5 0 0 . 0 5
