Opening a Folder

To open a folder, follow the given steps:
Step 1: Open This PC window and choose the drive in which the folder
is stored.
Step 2: Double-click on the folder icon.

Or
Select the folder and press the Enter key.

Saving a File in a Folder
While saving a file in a program, we can choose the folder created earlier where we want the files to be saved.
Let us save a Paint file in the folder we created on the Desktop.

To save a file in a folder, we need to choose the folder created earlier. Let us learn how to save a Paint file in the
folder.

Step 1: Click on the File tab and choose Save As option.
Step 2: In the Save As dialog box, select the location where you want to save the file.

Step 3: Select the folder in
the drive where you
want to save the file.

Step 4: Type the name the file
in the File name box.
Step 5: Click on the Save
button. The file is
saved in the specified
folder.

Copying a File or Folder

If you want to create a duplicate copy of a file or folder in some other folder, use Copy and Paste options. To
create a duplicate copy, follow the given the steps:
Step 1: Open This PC and select the location where your file or folder is saved.
Step 2: Select the file or folder to be copied.

Step 3: Click on the Copy option from the Clipboard group in the Home tab.
