Declarative Sentence

A declarative sentence makes a statement.
Such sentences are simple statements. A declarative sentence ends with a full stop.
        For example:

u I love to eat mangoes. (affirmative) u The cat did not chase the mouse. (negative)
A sentence in the present tense changes into negative using do not or does not before the main verb.
        For example:

u I do not read science fiction. u My cat does not like milk.
A sentence in the past tense changes into negative using did not before the main verb.
        For example:
u Marlon did not play his best yesterday. u He did not break the jar.
        Imperative Sentence

An imperative sentence which gives a command, order, makes a request, or expresses a wish.
An imperative sentence ends with a full stop (.) or an exclamatory mark (!).

        For example:
u Don’t do that! (command) u Eat healthy. (advice) u Please keep quiet. (request)
        Interrogative Sentence

A sentence that asks a question is called an interrogative sentence. It ends with a question mark (?).
        For example:

u Do you like reading books?
The above sentence begins with an auxiliary verb ‘do’ and can be answered in Yes or No.

         u What are you doing?
The above sentence begins with a wh-question word ‘what’ and can not be answered in Yes or No. A full statement
has to be given as its answer.

        Exclamatory Sentence
An exclamatory sentence expresses sudden and strong feelings, such as surprise, wonder, pity, sympathy
happiness or gratitude. It ends with an exclamatory mark (!).

        For example:
u What a lovely place this is! u What a beautiful day!
