Sea Creatures
The ocean is home to numerous strange creatures. Some deep-sea species appear more alien than
anything you can imagine. Researchers continue to discover intriguing creatures that have been living
at the deepest oceans for centuries.

It is found in the salty, temperate waters of the Southwestern
Pacific. It belongs to the Chaunacidae family of sea toads.

They are bony fish with the most distinguishable characteristic, which is
only present in the females, is a modified luminescent fin ray (the esca
or illicium) which acts as a lure for its prey. ______________________

It is the longest bony fish in the world. It has a snake-like body with a
red fin running along the entire length of its body. People often mistake
it for a sea serpent. ______________________

It has a large mouth that can be opened wide enough to swallow an animal
that is much bigger than itself. It uses its mouth like a net, by opening it
wide and swimming towards its prey. ______________________

It is one of the fiercest predators. It lures its prey with a light producing
organ. It has very large eyes and needle-like teeth. It attracts its prey by
using its organ by flashing the light on and off. __________________

It is the size of a golf ball. However, its venom is toxic enough to kill
humans. There is no known antidote to the venom of this creature.
