STARTING NOTEPAD
To start Notepad: 2
1. Click the Start button.
2. In the list of all programs, under
Windows Accessories, click Notepad.
Notepad starts and its window opens. 1
COMPONENTS OF NOTEPAD WINDOW
The components of the Notepad window are described below.
Title Bar
Menu Bar
Cursor
Work Area
Title Bar: It displays the name of the program and document.
Menu Bar: It displays various commands for working in Notepad. The
commands are divided into various menus – File, Edit, Format, View, and
Help. Each menu contains commands related to a specific function.
Work Area: It is the area below the Menu bar where we type text.
Cursor: It is the blinking line in the Work Area. It indicates where the text
typed will appear.
