                                                  the end of last item and press Enter key. The next
                                                  bullet or number appears automatically.



        Adding Borders and Shading
        Borders and Shading feature adds an outline border and background color to the selected paragraph/text.

        Adding Border to the Paragraph/Text
        Step 1:  Select the part of text to put a border around.

        Step 2:  Click on Format menu and select Paragraph option. The Paragraph dialog box will appear.
























        Step 3:  Select the Borders tab. This tab includes some components:

                 •   Line  Arrangement  specifi es  where  the
                     borders  go.  Writer  provides  fi ve  default
                     arrangements but you can click the line you
                     want to customize in the User-defi ned area
                     to get exactly what you want. Each line can
                     be individually formatted.
                 •   Line  specifi es  what  the  border  looks  like:
                     the style, width, and color. Each parameter
                     has a number of attributes to choose from.
                     The attributes  selected will apply  to those
                     borders highlighted by a pair of black
                     arrows in the User-defi ned thumbnail.

                 •   Padding specifi es how much space to leave
                     between the border and the contents of the text. Spaces can be specifi ed to the left, right, above, and
                     below. Select Synchronize to have the same spacing for all four sides.
                 •   Shadow Style always apply to the whole element. A shadow has three components: where it is
                     (Position), how far from the element it is (Distance), and what colour it is.
