Design Reports
We have learned how to create database and its objects for storing and retrieving information from it. But what
about generating the hardcopy of the required data? Base provides reports, the database objects which can be
used to show information from the tables or queries in a printable form. Reports can be generated from single
or multiple data sources showing information in a systematic and summarised manner. These can be used
effectively for analysing the information for various purposes.
Just like other database objects, Base provide two ways for designing the reports.
v Using the Report Wizard v Using the Design View
Here, we will learn to use Report Wizard.
Creating Report Using Report Wizard
This is a convenient method used for designing customised reports. It provides flexibility to select fields from
multiple data sources and allows to group and sort the data, if needed.
To start Report Wizard:
Step 1: Click the Reports icon in the Database area.
Step 2: Under Tasks area, click the Use Wizard to Create Report option. The Report Wizard dialog box appears.
There are six steps in the Report Wizard.
