Step 5: Set a Primary key: This step allows you to create a primary key or set a current field in the table. Each
table in a database needs to have a field that is not shared by any other table in the database. Each
record in a table will have a unique identifier.

There are three choices for generating a primary key:

                     • Automatically add a primary key: Selecting this option will generate a primary key field for the
table. If you check Auto value check box, Base will generate an ID number for each record. The
number for each new record will incrementally increase the number. For example, the first record
would be 1001; the second record would be 1002.

                     • Use an existing field as a primary key: This option activates the field name drop-down list. The
menu contains fields you added in the first step. Click the desired field. If you check Auto value
check box, Base will generate an ID number for each record.

                     • Define primary key as a combination of several fields: This option allows you to choose more
than one field that you selected in the first step and use them as a primary key. The fields are listed
in the Available fields box, and you need to move the selected fields to the Primary key fields box.
Click the Next button once you have defined a primary key.
