Verbs have three main forms.

All the other parts of a verb are formed with the help of these three forms.
Adverb
An adverb is a word that is used to add something to the meaning of a verb, an adjective or
another adverb. For example:
She arranged the flowers quickly.

He painted the wall carefully.

They sang the song extremely well.

Preposition
A preposition is a word that shows the position of a noun or a pronoun in relation to
something else in the sentence. For example:
Johnny kept the broom under the cupboard.

There is a range of mountains behind our house.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.

The mouse ran into the hole.
O
Conjunction
A conjunction is a word that is used to join words, phrases or sentences. For example:
Seeta and Geeta are twins.

It started raining, but we managed to find a shelter.
O
She completed the task though she was tired.
O
I do not mind travelling by bus or by car.

Interjection
An interjection is a word used to express an emotion or a sudden feeling. For example: Parts of Speech
Hurrah! The President has just declared a holiday tomorrow.

Wow! That was a truly great escape.

Ouch! That was a nasty cut.

Brrr! It’s really cold in here.
