We use because or as to join two sentences when one of them says something and the other
                gives a reason for it.

                       He came first in the class. He is very intelligent.

                       He came first in the class because he is very intelligent.

                       He knew he was in the woods. He could hear the sound of animals.
                    l
                       He knew he was in the woods as he could hear the sound of animals.

                We use if or unless when there is a condition.
                       The class ended early. I would reach home on time.
                    l
                       If the class ended early, I would reach home on time.
                       I sleep with the window open. It is really cold.
                    l
                       I sleep with the window open as it is really cold.

                  Let’s Learn Correlative Conjunctions

                Correlative conjunctions appear in pairs and join two similar items. The items joined by
                correlative conjunctions are of equal importance. They include words like  both…and,
                either…or, neither…nor, and not only…but also.

                Read the following sentences.
                       Mangoes are expensive. Apples are expensive.
                    l    Both mangoes and apples are expensive.
              Conjunctions  l       Both her daughters are beautiful. They are also well mannered.

                       I can go on Monday. I can go on Tuesday.
                       I can go either on Monday or on Tuesday.
                       She cannot stay away from ice cream. She does not like to exercise.
                    l
                       Neither can she stay away from ice creams nor does she like to exercise.

                    l
                       Both her daughters are not only beautiful, but also well mannered.
