Adjectives of Quality
An adjective of quality tells us about the kind of a person or a thing. An adjective of
quality answers the question: of what kind?
Read the following sentences.
Sunita is a beautiful girl.
O
My mother is a very kind lady.
O
In the above sentences, beautiful and kind are adjectives of quality.
Some other adjectives of quality are naughty, smart, tall, intelligent, deep, etc.
Adjectives of Quantity
An adjective of quantity tells us how much of a thing is there. An adjective of quantity
answers the question: how much?
Read the following sentences.
There is little water in the bottle.
O
She ate some rice.
O
In the above sentences, little and some are adjectives of quantity.
Some other adjectives of quantity are enough, all, a lot, much, etc.
Adjectives of Number
An adjective of number tells us about people or things that can be counted. An adjective
of number answers the question: how many? Adjectives
Read the following sentences.
I have three friends. (cardinal)

I didn’t take the first bus. (ordinal)
O
In the above sentences, three and first are adjectives of number.
Some other adjectives of number are one, two, three, all, first, second, etc.
