Adjectives of Quality
An adjective of quality shows the quality of a noun or a pronoun.
A brave king A cloudy day A wise man
Adjectives of Colour
An adjective of colour shows the colour of the noun described by it,
brown eyes red apples black hair
Adjectives of Class
An adjective of class shows a particular class which its noun belongs to.
wild animals religious men political leader
Emphasizing Adjective
An emphasizing adjective lays stress on some feeling or quality of its noun.
urgent work pure water complete food
Participle Adjective
A participle adjective is, in fact, a participle but is used as an adjective.
Participle adjectives are of two types.
(a) ing-adjectives (b) ed-adjectives
(a) The ing-adjectives are, in fact, present participles.
interesting novel exciting movie pleasing nature
(b) The ed-adjectives are, in fact, past participles.
tired tourist broken glass furnished room
Proper Adjective
A proper adjective is an adjective that is formed from a proper noun.

Interrogative Adjective
An interrogative adjective is used to ask a question regarding the noun that follows it.
1. Whose purse is this? 2. Which dictionary do you consult?
Compound Adjective
A compound adjective is made up of two or more words mainly with hyphens between them.
