21 21 Notice and Message Writing
Notices
A Notice is always written in the third person. Use of the first person (I, we) and the second person
(you) should be avoided.
An Ideal Notice should have:
• An eye catching title.
• date on which the notice is issued.
• destination for whom the Notice is given.
• aim of writing.
• all the details.
• write the designation of the person/organization issuing the Notice.
• A notice is always written in a box.
Types of Notices:
(a) Lost and Found (b) Meetings / Events (c) Tours

(Lost and Found)
A student of Milton Grammar School has lost a very expensive pen in the school complex during
the morning prayer. Write a Notice to be put on the school noticeboard giving all the necessary
details. Sign yourself as Sanjeev Sharma, VIII B.

NOTICE

PEN LOST
All the students are hereby informed that a pen has been lost in the school complex
during the morning prayer. It is brown colour pen fitted with watch.
Whoever finds the pen is requested to return it to the undersigned. A suitable reward
is promised.
