Interrogative Sentence


          An  interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks something about some noun,
          action, fact, or happening.

            1.  Where are you going?


            2.  Do you take a steam bath every day?

            3.   How did the roof fall?

            4.   Which of them is smaller?


            5.   Is the earth always moving?

          Observe the above sentences and note the following.

             An interrogative sentence always asks something.
          O
             It can never state anything.
          O
             It can never express a wish, a command or a feeling either.
          O
             It always ends with a question mark (?).
          O

          Imperative Sentence


          An imperative sentence expresses an order, a request or advice.

            1.   Shut the door.                                     (command)

            2.  Help me, O God!                                     (entreaty)


            3.   Lend me your pen, please.                          (request)


          Observe the above sentences and note the following.

             A command always gives some order.
          O
             An entreaty makes a request.
          O
             Request always begs permission or asks for something.
          O

          Exclamatary Sentence


          An exclamatory sentence contains an exclamation or a strong emphasis.

            1.   How hot it is!

            2.   What a foolish boy you are!
