              ● Multiplication is repeated addition of a number.
              ● It is represented by the symbol ‘×’.
              ● The result of multiplication is called the product. For example, in 3 × 7 = 21. 21 is called
the product, 3 is called the multiplicand and 7 is called the multiplier. 3 and 7 are also called

            Multiplication

Multiplication is repeated addition of a number. In 1 5 Multiplicand

multiplication, the number being multiplied is called
the multiplicand and the number by which it is being × 5 Multiplier
multiplied is called the multiplier. The answer of the 7 5 Product
            multiplication is called the product.

Let us revise the multiplication tables fi rst.

Multiplication Tables from 2 to 10

Table of 2 Table of 3 Table of 4 Table of 5

              1 × 2 = 2 1 × 3 = 3 1 × 4 = 4 1 × 5 = 5

              2 × 2 = 4 2 × 3 = 6 2 × 4 = 8 2 × 5 = 10

              3 × 2 = 6 3 × 3 = 9 3 × 4 = 12 3 × 5 = 15

              4 × 2 = 8 4 × 3 = 12 4 × 4 = 16 4 × 5 = 20

              5 × 2 = 10 5 × 3 = 15 5 × 4 = 20 5 × 5 = 25

              6 × 2 = 12 6 × 3 = 18 6 × 4 = 24 6 × 5 = 30

              7 × 2 = 14 7 × 3 = 21 7 × 4 = 28 7 × 5 = 35

              8 × 2 = 16 8 × 3 = 24 8 × 4 = 32 8 × 5 = 40

              9 × 2 = 18 9 × 3 = 27 9 × 4 = 36 9 × 5 = 45

              10 × 2 = 20 10 × 3 = 30 10 × 4 = 40 10 × 5 = 50
