When we divide any number by 100
 The number formed by digits at tens place and ones place becomes the remainder.
 The remaining part of the number becomes the quotient.
Divide 934 by 100 Divide 7364 by 100
9 7 3
100 9 3 4 100 7 3 6 4
– 9 0 0 – 7 0 0
3 4 3 6 4
– 3 0 0
6 4
Quotient = 9, Remainder = 34
Quotient = 73, Remainder = 64
When we divide any number by 1000
 The number formed by digits at hundreds place, tens place and ones place becomes
the remainder.
 The remaining part of the number becomes the quotient.
Divide 5630 by 1000 Divide 9999 by 1000
5 9
1000 5 6 3 0 1000 9 9 9 9
– 5 0 0 0 – 9 0 0 0
6 3 0 9 9 9
Quotient = 5, Remainder = 630 Quotient = 9, Remainder = 999
