Fact-o-meter
� To form the smallest number by some given digits, write the digits in
ascending order.
� To form the greatest number by some given digits, write the digits in
descending order.
Now let us consider the digits 4, 0 and 6. Challenge
With 4 in the hundreds column: 406 and 460 How many 3-digit
numbers can be make
With 6 in the hundreds column: 604 and 640 by 7, 0 and 3?
0 cannot be there in the hundreds place as the number will then become
a 2-digit number.
Thus, the numbers formed are 406, 460, 604 and 640.
Here, the smallest number = 406
The greatest number = 640
Form all possible 3-digit numbers using the following digits.
(a) 5, 2, 7 ______________________________________
(b) 6, 1, 3 ______________________________________
(c) 3, 0, 8 ______________________________________
