        Ascending and Descending Orders

When numbers are written from the smallest to the greatest, they are

said to be in increasing or ascending order.

For example, 121, 263, 334 and 433 are in ascending order.

                                                                           433

                                                                334

                                                      263 Smallest to greatest

                                            121 (Ascending order)

When numbers are written from the greatest to the smallest, they are

said to be in decreasing or descending order.

For example, 624, 432, 163 and 105 are in descending order.

                                                                           624

                                                                432
                                                               Greatest to smallest
                                                      163

                                            105 (Descending order)
