Expanded and Short Forms of Numbers

In the expanded form, we write the 3-digit number as a sum of hundreds,
        tens and ones.

We know that the number 532 has 5 hundreds, 3 tens and 2 ones.

        It can be written as, 532 = 5 hundreds + 3 tens + 2 ones = 500 + 30 + 2

        500 + 30 + 2 is the expanded form of 532.

        532 is the short form of 500 + 30 + 2.
