Measure each object to the nearest centimetre and write their length

in the box.

Adding and Subtracting Lengths 4 5 6
To add and subtract lengths, we write length in columns and then do
addition or subtraction.

Example 1: Add 45 cm and 18 cm. Example 2: Subtract 67 m from 93 m.

+ 1 8 cm – 6 7 m
6 3 cm 2 6 m

Thus, 45 cm + 18 cm Thus, 93 m – 67 m = 26 m
= 63 cm
