                               Indian Armed Forces





        India is the land of courageous people who don’t hesitate to defend the nation with their lives. They
        dedicate their lives to ensure our sovereignty’s security. The Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian
        Air Force are its three professional uniformed forces. Let us learn about them.

        Indian Army

        Since India’s independence, the Indian Army has fought four wars
        with Pakistan and one with China. Its primary mission is to ensure
        national security and  safeguard  the sovereignty and  territorial
        integrity of India from external forces. It also pledges its support and
        assistance in times of natural disasters and calamities.
        The  Indian  Army  has  approximately  11  lakh  men  and  women  in
        various ranks. The army is under the direction of  the Chief of the
        Army Staff. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi.

        Indian Air Force

        The Indian Air Force is the fourth largest Air Force in
        the  World.  It  is  commanded  by  the  Chief  of  the Air
        Staff. Its primary objective is to secure Indian airspace
        and to conduct aerial warfare in times of conflict. It has
        actively  participated  in  United  Nations  peacekeeping
        missions all across the world.


                                       The  Indian  Air  Force  has  approximately  1,70,000  active  personnel  in
                                       various  ranks  and  posts  along  with  a  large  working  fleet  of  combat
                                       aircrafts, transport aircrafts, training aircraft, and helicopters.
