                     increase in road accidents.
                (4)  In India in 2001, approximately 80,000 people were killed and 382,700 people were
                     injured. This clearly highlights the severity of India’s road traffic difficulties, which are
                     only becoming worse due to the ever-increasing number of motor vehicles and the
                     incapacity of the road system to handle the suffocating traffic flow.
