After being suspended, Nidhi decided to be honest with her parents and as soon as she reached
home, she described the whole thing to her mother. Her mother felt angry at Kritika, but also
understood Nidhi’s position. She told Nidhi that she should look at this as a lesson to not do things
just for becoming popular and said, ‘‘If your conscience is telling you that something is bad, you
must follow that instinct, rather than listening to others’’.
Do not underestimate yourself by comparing yourself with others.
In fact, it is our diff erences that make us unique and beautiful.

ACTIVITY 2
This will be an individual activity. The teacher will write a situation on the board. The situation
would present a dilemma like the one Nidhi faced. All students will list down the pros and cons
of both sides in a table like this one:

A sample situation: You are good friends with the most popular girl/boy in class. Your friend
is intelligent, good-looking, sporty, and fun to be with and you are very close to him/her. One
day, you see him/her smoking behind the school building with two other children. You are
shocked! What would you do? Think of any two possible actions you can take and also list their
consequences in a table like the one shown above.
