FORMATTING PARAGRAPH TEXT

Sometimes, we need to format text in the
whole paragraph instead of a single word. The

Paragraph group in the Home tab provides
options to apply formatting to paragraphs,
such as text alignment and creating numbered
or bulleted lists.

Aligning Text

Alignment is the manner in which text is placed between the left and right margins of
a page. Word provides margins in the document window to layout the text precisely.
By default, Word aligns text with the left margin. The various alignment options

available in Word 2019 are described below.
Alignment Option Description

Align Left To align text with the left margin.

Center To align text in the centre of left and right margins.

Align Right To align text with the right margin.

Justify To align text with both the left and the right margins.

To align text:

1. Select the text you want to align.
2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the desired alignment option.
