WORKING WITH TEXT
Photoshop provides Type tools to insert text in an image. When
you insert text in an image, a new type layer is added to the Layers
panel.
Inserting Text
To insert text in an image:
1. Open a saved image. 4
2. In the Tools panel, select the Horizontal Type Tool or
the Vertical Type Tool.
3. In the Options bar, select the font, font style, font size,
alignment, and colour for the text.

4. Click in the image to set an insertion point for the type.
5. Type the desired text.
6. When you finish typing the text, click the Commit
button on the Options bar or press the Ctrl + Enter keys.
Editing Text
After inserting the text in an image, you can edit it as desired.
To edit text in an image:
1. In the Tools panel, select the Type tool.
2. In the Layers panel, select the Type layer.
3. Position the insertion point in the text and edit the text
as desired.
4. In the Options bar, click the Commit button to apply 3
the changes.
