Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar, present on the left side of the Title bar provides shortcuts for
commonly used commands.
Ribbon
The Ribbon, present below the Title bar, provides various commands for working with
presentations. It is divided into various Tabs and Groups.

PowerPoint 2016 Ribbon
The tabs present on PowerPoint 2016 Ribbon are – Home, Insert, Draw, Design,
Transitions, Animations, Slides Show, Review, and View.
File Tab
The File tab is located beneath the
Quick Access Toolbar. When clicked,
the File tab opens the Backstage view.
Slide Pane
The Slide Pane, present on the right
side of the PowerPoint window,
displays one slide at a time. It is used to
work on the contents of an individual
slide.
Slides Pane
The Slides Pane, also called the Thumbnails pane, is present on the left side of the
PowerPoint window. It contains thumbnails of all the slides in a presentation. Clicking
a thumbnail opens the related slide in the Slide pane.
Status Bar
The Status Bar present at the bottom of the PowerPoint window displays information
related to the current presentation. It also contains the View Shortcuts toolbar and the
Zoom slider.
