To insert a text box:

1. On the Insert tab, click the Text Box
button in the Text group.

2. Move the mouse pointer at the location
on the slide where you want to add the
text box.

The pointer changes to the pointer.

3. Click and drag on the slide to draw the text

box of the required size.
4. Type the required text.
5. Format the text as required.

4 6. Click anywhere outside the text box.
PowerPoint inserts the text in the slide.

INSERTING A SMARTART GRAPHIC
SmartArt graphics are diagrams that communicate information visually in an interesting
and easily understandable manner. They are grouped under various categories – List,

Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relationship, Matrix, Pyramid, Picture, and Office.com. Every
SmartArt graphic is made up of one or more shapes. 1
To insert a SmartArt graphic in a slide:
1. On the Insert tab, click the SmartArt button in
the Illustrations group.

The Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box opens.
2. In the left pane, select a SmartArt category.

3. In the centre pane, select a SmartArt layout. 5

4. Click the OK button.
The SmartArt graphic is inserted in the slide.

5. Click a shape in the graphic and type the text you want to display in it.
