Component                                           Description

             Ribbon            Provides commands for various tasks, divided into Tabs and Groups.


                               Opens  the  Backstage  view  and  provides  commands  to  work  with
             File Tab
                               presentations.

             Slides Pane       Displays thumbnails of all slides in a presentation.

             Slide Pane        Displays one slide at a time to work on it.


             Status Bar        Provides information about the current presentation.


            CREATING A PRESENTATION USING DESIGN TEMPLATES

            A design template is a blank presentation with a theme

            already  applied  to  it.  Each  template  provides  some            2
            specialised slide layouts and colour schemes.

            To create a new presentation from a design template:

                1.  Click the File tab.                                          3
                    The Backstage view opens.

                2.  Click the New option.

                3.  Select the thumbnail of the desired template.

                     A  preview  window  opens.  It  displays
                    the  title  slide  of  the  selected  template

                    with  alternative  colour  schemes  and
                    backgrounds.

                4.  Click the Create button.

                    PowerPoint  creates  a  new  presentation
                    based on the selected design template.                                          4

            Adding Slides

            PowerPoint provides several ways to add new slides to a presentation. You can add
            slides based on predefined slide layouts or duplicate existing slides.
