Text Formatting Toolbar
The Text Formatting toolbar contains various formatting options which are explained below.
Font Name Increase Font Bold Underline Superscript Highlighting Color
Font Size Subscript Font Color
Decrease Font Italic Strikethrough
v Font Name: to change font of text
v Font Size: to change size of text
v Increase Font Size: to increase the size of the text
v Decrease Font Size: to decrease the size of the text
To view the Text fomatting
v Bold: to make text darker toolbar, select
v Italic: to make text slanted towards right View ToolbarsText
Formatting.
v Underline: to put a line under text
v Strikethrough: to draw a line through the selected text.
v Superscript: to raise the selected text above baseline
v Subscript: to lower the selected text below baseline
v Font Color: to change colour of text
v Character Highlighting color: to highlight text
There are other text formatting options that are used sometimes while working with paragraphs.
v Alignemt options: The alignment icons are used to align the text to the Left, Center, Right, or Justify.
Align top, align center vertically, align bottom used to align the text between the top and bottom edges of
a placeholder. Decrease
v Unordered and Ordered List: Creates a bulleted or Paragraph
numbered list from selected paragraphs. Line Spacing Left Center Right Center Spacing
Vertically
v Increase Paragraph Spacing/Decrease Paragraph
Spacing: It increases or decreases the spacing above
and below the selected paragraphs. Justifi ed Increase
v Line Spacing: Adjusts the spacing between the lines Bullets and Numbering Align Top Align Bottom Paragraph
of a selected part. Spacing
v Increase Indent and Decrease Indent: These options are used to change the indentation by moving the
paragraph one tab stop to the right/left.
Removing Manual Formatting
To quickly remove formatting on the text, select the desired text and go to Format menu Clear Direct Formatting
option.
Changing Text Case
When you type in a placeholder, you type the fi rst letter of the fi rst word in upper case of a sentence. In Impress
you can type or convert the sentence into six cases. These cases are:
v Sentence case: It converts the fi rst letter of the fi rst word of the sentence in upper case. This is the default
case in Impress.
v lowercase: It converts all the letters into the lower case.
v UPPERCASE: It converts all the letters into the upper case.
