Verbs can be both transitive and intransitive depending on their meaning.

                Here is a list of verbs that can be both transitive and intransitive depending on their
                meanings.

                    Some verbs such as go, lie, arrive, die and sit are always intransitive.

                State whether the underlined verbs are transitive (T) or intransitive (I).
                      1.  I wish you would stop shouting as I am trying to study.

                      2.  Study the history notes well.
                      3.  Leave the cat alone, or it might scratch you.

                      4.  I have completed my work, so I would like to leave.

                      5.  Vikram manages the direction of the play.
                      6.  Sunil is sometimes very difficult to manage.

                      7.  He was so funny that they all laughed.

                      8.  She loves pineapple and cheese.

                Regular and Irregular Verbs
                Regular verbs take on spelling patterns of -d, -ed, or -ied for simple past or past participle.

                For example: love – loved, cook – cooked, hurry – hurried
                Irregular verbs are those that do not take on regular spelling patterns for simple past and
                past participle verbs. They are of three types.
              Verbs  The verbs in which all the three forms of the verb are the same.

                    For example: put – put – put

                The verbs in which two out of three forms of verb are the same.
                    For example: spend – spent – spent

                The verbs in which all the three forms of verb change.

                    For example: see – saw – seen
