Declarative Sentence
A declarative sentence is used for making a statement. For example:
That is a beautiful garden. My brother has joined the merchant navy.

Interrogative Sentence
An interrogative sentence is used for asking a question. For example:
Is that an ostrich? Could you lend me a sharpener?

Exclamatory Sentence
An exclamatory sentence is used to express or exclaim strong emotions. For example:
What a beautiful painting! My goodness!

Imperative Sentence
An imperative sentence is used to give a command, advice or to make a request. For example:
Shut the door. (command)

Walk carefully on the road. (advice)

Please stop shouting in the library. (request)

In imperative sentences, the subject is always you. It is not mentioned but implied.
For example: Go there. (It means ‘You go there’.)
