P. 40
Listening & Speaking Time
The teacher will divide the class into two groups: Near Group and Far Group for an
activity on demonstrative pronouns. The teacher will ask both the groups to discuss
and think of five pairs of sentences beginning with this/these for the Near Group and
that/those for the Far Group. The teacher will monitor that they talk to each other in
English. Each group will choose a group representative. The teacher will announce a
rule that the object used once in a sentence should not be repeated. The representative
of Near Group will stand up and speak out the first set of sentences (Example: This
is a table/These are tables.) In response, the representative of Far Group will stand
up and reply with their set of sentences. (Example: That is a table/Those are tables).
When the Far Group finishes speaking five sets of sentences, they will give up the role
of listeners and responders. Now the Far Group will hurl their that/those sentences
to the other group, and they will respond will this/these sentences.
