          Let’s Learn Using Apostrophe ( ’)


        We use an apostrophe (’) with singular and plural nouns to show possession.


        Use of Apostrophe (’) with Singular Nouns


            We use an apostrophe (’) with s when a noun is singular in number.

        Read the following groups of words.

               the books of a student    — a student’s bookst
            
               the car of my father        — my father’s car
            
               the pen of the teacher    — the teacher’s pen
            
        In the above groups of words, student, father and teacher are singular nouns. We use

        an apostrophe (’) with s to form their possessives.


        Use of Apostrophe (’) with Plural Nouns


            We use an apostrophe (’) a� er s when a noun is plural in number and ends in -s.
