The words hot, fat, pink, big, round and four are adjectives.

Adjectives tell us about the colours (red, green, blue, pink, brown, black,
white, etc.), sizes (big, small, long, short, etc.), shapes (round, square,

triangular, etc.), some special qualities (beautiful, pretty, old, young, etc.)

and numbers (one, two, three, etc.) of nouns.

Generally, adjectives are placed before nouns, but, in some cases, they are

also placed after nouns or pronouns.

For example: My sister is very happy for you. You don’t look very happy.
