Reusing waste maximises usability of a resource. It helps reduce wastefulness of
resources.
Let’s learn about some ways to reduce waste of some commonly used items.
1 Food Scraps
Eggshells are a great source of nutrients. They can be
used as soil fertilisers by drying them and making them
into a powder form and sprinkling them on soil.
Instead of using plastic bubble wrap or shredded paper,
peanut shells can be used as packing material.
2 Use Tea Bag
Used tea bag can be used as a shoe deodorant. Used tea
bag can absorb foul smell from the shoe.
Used tea leaves can be used as compost, it can easily
degrade in the soil.
Used tea bags can be stored and refrigerated to be used
as ice packs for eyes.
3 Empty Plastic Bottles
Used and empty plastic bottles can be used as plant
pots.
4 Empty Paper Towel or Toilet Rolls
Used rolls can be used as pencil holders, etc.
5 Old Shoe Boxes
Old shoe boxes can be used to store things in an
organised way.
