          More about the Degrees of Adjectives

             A.  When we use the comparative degree of an adjective for selecting out of two nouns, we use
                 ‘the’ before it and it is followed by of.

                  1.   Harsh is the taller and thinner of the two brothers.

                  2.   Which one of the two pens is the better one?
             B.  Junior, senior, inferior, superior—are followed by ‘to’ not by ‘than’.

                  1.   I am junior to him in age.
                  2.   Rakesh is senior to me in my class.

                  3.   That dog is inferior to this.

                  4.   This book is superior to that.
