          Comma (,)

          The comma is the shortest pause. It is used:

                  to separate three or more parts of speech that come together.

                  2.  Hamida is obedient, intelligent, and hard working.

                  to separate words or phrases in apposition.

                  To separate words of address.

                  To separate a direct quotation from the rest of sentences.

          Semicolon (;)


          The semicolon represents a pause longer than that indicated by a comma. It is used
          to separate the clauses of a compound sentence.


                  He is valiant; I honour him.


          Question Mark (?)

          It is used to mark direct questions.

                  2.  How is he now?
