We know that an adjective is a word that adds something to the meaning of a noun

          or pronoun.

          Read the given sentences.

            1. Reshu is an intelligent girl.

            2. The rose is a beautiful flower.

            3. The dog is a faithful animal.

The words intelligent, beautiful, and faithful are adjectives because they add to the

meaning of the nouns— girl, flower and animal.

          Now, read the following sentences.

            1. Deepa is a rich girl.

            2. Amisha is richer than Deepa.

            3. Vandana is the richest of them.

Adjectives change in form (rich, richer, richest) to show comparison.

These three forms are called the three degrees of comparison.

            1. Positive degree: simple form of adjective.

                tall, rich, big, etc.
