20 20 Story Writing

A story is a narrative that involves characters and a plot and entertains, informs,

or conveys a message. It typically has a beginning, a middle, and an end.

Reading stories improves our understanding of language and enriches our
             vocabulary.

          Who will hell the cat?

Once upon a time there lived a large number of mice in a rich man’s house.

They were very happy and fed themselves fat.

One day a cat came to live in the house. The mice were greatly scorned and knew

not what to do. The cat gulped down some of them.

The mice held a meeting. They discussed how they could save themselves from

their enemy, the cat. Several suggestions came forth but were turned down.

At last a young mouse stood up. He said, “Let us tie a bell around the cat’s neck.

And when she comes, the bell will warn us of the danger and we shall go into our

holes.” All liked the suggestion. The objection came from an old mouse. He said,

“The suggestion is very good. But who will bell the cat?”

There was no answer, for no one was prepared to risk his life. In the meantime, the

cat arrived there. All the mice ran to their holes.

Moral: It is easier said than done.
