18 18 Essay Writing
An essay is a short piece of writing that develops an idea or argument using evidence,
analysis, and interpretation.
Generally, an essay is developed into paragraphs. Each paragraph should focus on a
single idea. The essay-writing should follow a step-by-step approach. The sentence
should flow from one another.
The Postman
The postman is a useful public
servant. He can be recognized at
once from the bag hanging from his
shoulder. The bag contains letters,
parcels, money-orders, etc.
Everybody waits for the postman
eagerly at the time of his daily round.
To some people, he brings good
news while to others he brings bad
news. To some, he brings money
and important letters.
The postman has to do a tough job.
He has to keep fit and smart. He cannot choose to be careless or lazy. Rain or shine,
he has to do his duty. We must have respect for the postman.
