Task 2
          Task 2
You will hear a conversation between two girls talking about clay modelling.
Parul : Hi, Ruchika! You seem to be in quite a hurry. Where are you going?
Ruchika : Hi, Parul! I have joined a two month course in clay modelling. They are teaching
                    us to make pottery.
Parul : Hey, I joined this course last year. It’s so much fun. I made so many things.

Ruchika : Clay modelling is such a beautiful art, isn’t it? I am learning so much every day.
Parul : Yes. So, now you are going to learn pottery. Did you know Indian pottery really
began with the Indus Valley Civilisation?
          Ruchika : Really! I didn’t know that. That’s interesting.

Parul : In fact, in the Harappan civilisation, a potter held an important position in the
                    society.
Ruchika : No wonder, there is so much evidence of ancient pottery from all over India.
Parul : Ruchika, have you ever seen a potter’s wheel?

Ruchika : I have seen it, but I have not used it yet. We are still practising other methods of
making pots like pinching, coiling or slab methods. Did you ever work on potter’s
                    wheel?
Parul : Oh, yes. Making pots on the wheel isn’t easy. You need lot of practice to handle
                    it.

Ruchika : We are still in the hand-building stage in which we work only with our hands and
                    simple tools.

Parul : Ruchika, how do you feel handling all that mud? Doesn’t it get messy?
Ruchika : It does get a little messy at times, but that’s okay. I find it quite relaxing. Kneading
wet clay and making something with my bare hands. It’s really great fun!

          Task 3
          Task 3
You will hear short extracts of five people expressing their opinion about the joy of jogging.

Speaker 1: Oh, I just love jogging. It gives me such a good feeling. I like to feel my heart
beating fast, the blood racing in my veins, and the oxygen filling my lungs. Every
time I complete one round of the park, I feel that I have achieved something
good. It’s such a great feeling.
Speaker 2: Jogging in a park is absolutely free. You can do it anytime and anywhere. Jogging
has long term benefits. It helps to strengthen bones, build muscles, and is a
good exercise for the heart. To live a long and healthy life, jogging is a perfect
                      solution.
                                                                                              399
