Speaker 4: Electronic items, such as monitors, refrigerators, and televisions are becoming a
part of a big problem called e-waste. They cannot be discarded with household
rubbish because they contain toxic substances that affect human health. They
must be given to electronic waste dealers who break the items down into metallic
and non-metallic parts and then re-sell them as raw material in the market.
Speaker 5: Egg shells, peels of vegetables and fruits, tea bags, etc. can be put to very good
use. Build your own compost bin with them and nourish your potted plants.
Composting is the decomposition of materials from animals and plants. Through
composting process, you get a dark, brittle manure that is good for the fertility
                      of the soil.

          Task-4
          Task-4
You will hear a talk on the importance of a nap in the lives of young people.

Hello friends, before you get bored and go off to sleep, let me remind you that today we
are here to discuss a very strange subject—nap. Why do we need to talk about nap? Well,
sleep affects our mood and how we perform. And nap is a short period of sleep, typically
taken during the day. Naps are most often taken when we feel drowsy during waking hours.

A nap may be taken more than once, if required. Cultural attitudes toward napping during
the work day vary. In many cultures, children and the elderly are expected to nap during the
day and are provided with designated periods and locations to do so. In these same cultures,
most working adults are not expected to sleep during the day.
Some other cultures, especially those in hot climates, serve their largest meals at midday,
and then allow for a nap period called siesta before returning to work.

In surveys abroad, it has been found that young people are getting, on an average, about
six and-a-half hours sleep, when it should be about nine hours. It’s clear that with such
enormous sleep debts, short nap during the day is needed to cover the deficit.

Long naps are more effective than short ones.
          • Napping for 20 minutes can help refresh the mind and improve overall alertness.

          • It also boosts mood and increases productivity.
          • It keeps the heart healthy.

          • Studies demonstrate that naps are as good as a night of sleep.
          • Naps can improve certain memory functions.

So the bottomline is, we should stop feeling guilty about taking that 'power nap' at work.
