Division 93

If we take 6 from the pile of 24 mangoes We are six families and mangoes are 24. I will
putting them separately, we get 4 groups of 6 make 6 groups and put 4 mangoes in each. In
mangoes. You seem to get it, don’t you? this way, We all get equally divided mangoes.

I got it, mumma. Now I can Smart Baloo. We say it 24
distribute all the mangoes equally. divided by 6 equals to 4.

The number being divided is known The quotient denotes the number
as the dividend. In our case that is 24. of units in each group that is 4.

The number of groups represents Thanks, mumma! You made it so easy that
the divisor. Here it is 6. even I may hope to be a division super star.

Write a division problem on the board, 24 ÷ 4. Place 24 biscuits on the table. Tell the students that
the total number of biscuits represent the dividend while the number of students represent the
divisor. Call out any 4 students and have them count the biscuits. Ask them to share the biscuits
so that everyone gets the same number of the biscuits.
