A C T I V I T Y T I M E

Objective: To build multiplication tables.

Materials Required:

A broom stick and packet of toffees.

Procedure:

1. The students will work in groups of 3 named as
A, B and C.

2. Student A will take 4 sticks from a broom.

3. She/He will keep them straight.

4. Student B will take 1 stick and 1 × 4 = 4
will keep it across the 4 sticks.

5. Student C will keep a toffee
on the points where the sticks 2 × 4 = 8

cross each other.

6. So, 1 × 4 = 4

7. Taking turns the students will
keep sticks on the first 4 sticks

and build the 4 times table.

8. Similarly, the other groups will

build the other multiplication
tables.
