Comparing Numbers

We compare two or more numbers to fi nd which is smallest and which is greatest and
we use > or < signs.

When the number of digits are different

Let us compare 996 and 1039.

3-digit number

When the number of digits are same

Rule 1: Compare the digits in the Rule 2: If the digits in the thousands place
