Properties of Subtraction

� When we subtract ‘0’ from a number, we get the number itself.

For example, 34 – 0 = 34; 53 – 0 = 53; 78 – 0 = 78

� When we subtract a number from itself, we get ‘0’ as answer.

For example, 25 – 25 = 0; 47 – 47 = 0; 92 – 92 = 0

Subtract using the properties of subtraction.

(a) 12 – 0 = (b) 35 – 35 =

(c) 23 – = 0 (d) – 0 = 56

(e) 46 – = 46 (f) – 82 = 0

(g) 87 – 87 = (h) – 0 = 99
