1. She was only 16 years old when she was affected in a terrible
accident that resulted in the amputation of her leg. She is well-
known for her accomplishments as a Bharatanatyam dancer and
has appeared in several films. __________________________
2. He was an American President who was paralysed from the waist down
in 1921 and led America through two of the most difficult periods of
American history—the Great Depression and World War II—in spite of
his disability. __________________________
3. She was almost completely deaf when she was 18 months old.
Despite her disability, she won the Best Actress Academy Award
in 1986 for her debut performance in ‘Children of a Lesser God’.
