Active Volcanoes
A volcano is an opening in the Earth’s upper mantle through which lava, rock fragments, hot vapour,
and gas erupts. It is a molten rock and gas crater hole in the Earth’s crust.

1. ______________ is the highest mountain in the Cascade Range.
At 14,410 feet, it dominates the landscape of a large part of western
Washington state. It is regarded as one of the most dangerous
volcanoes in the world.
2. ______________ is a volcano located in the northern part of Sumbawa.
It is known for its eruption in 1816. Before 1815, it was more than
4,300 m high, making it one of the tallest peaks in Indonesia.
3. ______________ is an active volcano located on the island of Luzon

Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. Prior to 1991, the mountain was
obscured and heavily whittled away.
